PRAKASHITES GO GREEN THIS DIWALI WITH DIPOTSAV

The spirit of Diwali was brought alive by Prakashites through an array of enticing programs in the ‘Diptsav-22 ,Diwali Raffle’ held on 21.10.22 in the school premises. The program was a perfect combination of cultural activities, Craft Mela, Food fest and motivational and entertaining events.

The theme of the celebrations,  “Green Diwali” was emphasized through big picture painted by the students beautifully depicting the message “No to pollution, Yes to Plant trees” .The message was loud and clear,  that of conserving the environment by planting more and more plants.

The program commenced with Ganesh Vandana to invoke the blessings of lord Ganesha followed by a dance performance depicting the cultural significance of the festival of lights. A street show followed, which took everyone by surprise, stressing on the need for celebrating a safe, green, cracker-free and eco-friendly Diwali. Then  children presented a skit relating the origin and religious significance of Diwali to the younger generation. It was followed by a lively dance performance bringing out the joy of the festival. Further, the program was given a soothing and melodious touch by a mellifluous rendering of an Annamacharya keerthana by some students. Then the students who won various competitions held on the occasion were awarded prizes.  The program continued with an exhibition in the open ground where Craft Galli-Craft sale, KhaoGalli –the Food Fest and KheloGalli -the Game zones attracted everyone. The delicacies like traditional sweets, Chocolate balls, Poori blasts and artifacts like painted and decorated diyas all handcrafted by the students were put on sale. It was amusing to see how children were grooming entrepreneurial skills during the sale.

Prakashites did not miss the opportunity to spread the message of the need for a green Diwali to all the parents by promoting the Oxygen plants. Parents were delighted to get Organic seeds of papaya plants as gifts for participating and winning the games.

Director of the school Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash congratulated all the students for their fruitful efforts. The event was marked by the values imparted to the children for a green, happy and safe Diwali where in each and every student, staff were  given Organic papaya seeds.
