National Science Day Celebrations

“Equipped together with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the journey – ‘SCIENCE’.” True to this famous saying, many scientists proved their metal and a day is contributed for one of them to celebrate science. Each year, February 28 is celebrated as National Science Day to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the Indian Physicist CV Raman. This year, the theme of the celebrations is ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for sustainable Future’. National Science Day is celebrated all over the world to invoke a feeling of oneness pertaining to scientific updates and the latest technology. It is to roll out to the world about the impact of science used in the daily life of the people. Reinforcing the same, scientific celebrations have spread their jubilance at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan. National Science day was observed by Prakashites on 28 th February, 2022. In this regard, a workshop was organized at the school premises for the students by the Founder of the Revathi Foundation, Mr.Sri Krishna sai. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the session with hands-on experience of various experiments like the ‘Litmus Paper Test’, ‘The Periodic Table Game’, ‘Magic lines Activity’, ‘Filtration’ etc. They also had some frolic with ‘The Magic Bulb Experiment’. On the same day competitions like ‘Poster Making’ and ‘Essay Writing’ were also conducted. The students showcased their scientific zeal through their ‘Video Presentations’, ‘Lab Experiments’, and ‘Diagrams’. Overall, it was a fulfilling experience for the students as they have taken a deep dip into the concrete science Chambers after a long abstract learning. Expressing the same enthusiasm the children shared their views are on the workshop. Science is a vast subject and it had empowered the world to perfection. The seminar was extremely informative and taught us the way of easy learning and fun by performing some experiments. The experiments like ‘Play with Periodic Table’ and ‘Fun with Magic Bulb’ were interesting and awoke our interest. The experiments enhanced our enthusiasm and helped us to utilize time in a particular way. -S.P.ARAVIND, VII Today I am here to share my feelings about the science organized by Revathi Science Foundation. I felt very lively while doing the experiments. My favourite activity out of all was the ‘Fun with Periodic Table’ activity. It was really fun to find the names of animals using atomic number and the element symbol. It felt really amazing to perform the activities. I would like to thank the Revathi Science Foundation and our school management for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

A Splendid Interaction With Retd. Vice Admiral

Realizing the need to enhance the importance of defense and the spirit of patriotism among young minds, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan had an interactive session with Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Distinguished Fellow, VIF | Vivekananda International Foundation, with an objective to motivate and guide the students about the Armed Forces. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri’s family was associated with Bhagat Singh and he reminiscenced the facts of him with the Prakashities. The young minds got an opportunity to understand better how they can work for a better India. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri gave voice to the importance of National Security, Economic status of the country and Indian Culture. He said that the Indian Armed Forces are the strongest and have never let the country down. He enhanced the strategic power of the Armed Forces by recalling a few wars of the past. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri touched on certain criterias to uplift the economic status of the country. He said dedication to work for the country is the main aspect to overcome the economic issues faced by the country. Honesty and morality is the foundation for the development of the country. He also insinuated that the insight of the history is sine qua non for maintaining the value system and culture of the country. Indonesia, the second largest Muslim populated country follows the values inscribed in Mahabharata and Ramayana. Satavahana and Chola Dynasty’s defense mechanism and Shivaji’s naval force organisation was eulogized as the best. He highlighted the art of war that was followed by the rulers to protect the country from the enemies. He said by framing wise and correct policies in the interest of the country can lead the country to greater heights. He also elaborated that the nation must ensure to use three levers of power – Strategic, Economic and Diplomatic to build it strong. He posited that the upcoming generations can uplift the country only if they are self-reliant, confident and use their brain power for the betterment of the country. He solicited the youth to hone their skills for their own country’s benefit. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri also said that the culture lies within the purview of Spiritualism and morality begins from home. Youngsters must acknowledge the history of their country and must also be the initiators to promote the value system. He encouraged the prakashites to choose defence as their career. Dr. Prabhakar, Dermatologist adorned the session with his gracious presence and also inspired the students by his insightful words to serve our motherland, India. He said that his family were freedom freighters and were associated with Subhash Chandra Bose. He enlightened the Prakashites to be patriotic towards our country. Young Smiles, the school Newsletter was grandly released by the day’s guests Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri, Dr. Prabhakar and the School Director, Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash and the day’s guests released the school Newsletter and wished them best.
