Live every year, we had numerous activities on this  Sports Day too. Sports Day is my favourite day because it helps me demonstrate my talents. I am a very athletic person and enjoy playing sports. I can run marathons and go through the ring of fire with ease.My friends are also very athletic so we wait for this day throughout the year. This year it was very interesting. We had an opportunity to participate in games like Basketball, Badminton, Skating and Chess. It was a very beautiful experience. Sports is a way of keeping our stress of studies away. All the activities were done house wise. There are a total of 4 houses, i.e, Chola, Maratha, Kakatiya and Mourya. This year Chola won the most medals. All of the houses gave their level best but at the end of the day Chola house won 17 medals.  At the end of the day, it’s just a game and we should participate with Sportsman Spirit, irrespective of the winning or losing.  On the whole, I can say that Sports Day is a very exciting and happy day that every student looks forward to. Every student can participate in different types of sporting events. Personally, I enjoy sports day and look forward to it every year. It helps me showcase my athletic abilities in front of an enthusiastic audience.     – K. When children participate in sporting activities, it has a positive impact on their overall growth. Moreover, playing team sports has many added benefits”. With regard to this idea, I would like to enumerate my feelings. Being a Prakashite feels like Oh ! what a bliss. Personally speaking I am honored to be a part of this humble institution Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, the Best CBSE school in Visakhapatnam.  It is not just a school but a home, a learning centre and the place where I belong. Our beloved teachers make our learning easy and also teach us ethical values. This school not only teaches us to become prodigies but also provides us with many opportunities to showcase our talent and I am grateful to our Director Sir for providing us with such education. I was provided with such an opportunity to showcase my talent in the chess competition held in our school on the occasion of Sports day. And I am very glad that I was given this opportunity for I could seize the first prize. To be honest I was overwhelmed by my victory because it was not an easy journey. I had to conquer 8 levels and played against formidable opponents who kept me on my toes with excitement. I would like to thank all the people who played against me for giving me joy and also a tough competition. Due to this I also improved my skills in chess and learned about my own flaws and I hope I will be able to correct them and perform well in future. Lastly I would like to thank my school Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, the best school in Vizag which encouraged me and spent time in carefully observing my game to ensure fair result.  Proud to be a Prakashite.                                –  P. We the present living do not understand the value of what we have, rather we later put ourselves together to find out what we had lost Something similar was what I had seen in our heritage exhibition. The former generation of ours did use one–third of our whole collection when they were half or their present, but as they had a glance towards our heritage collections their cheeks, went red with joy & curiosity. Our Grandparents did sit in the edge of their seats to tell us about the purity of our heritage, Back then we failed to listen giving a statement that we lacked time. Now, the heritage exhibition conducted by SRUJANA and hosted by our school Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Visakhapatnam has allocated ample amount of time for all of those who wish to come. A number of them stepped forward and listened to each one of us explaining the heritage contributed this time none made excuses instead spent their precious time in knowing the purity of our heritage. They enjoyed a diversed collection displayed in the Heritage Exhibition which started with the collection of old idols followed by brass ware, Glass ware, old tape, books, and concluded with our traditional ware sarees. Taking a sight of all the elders who were immersed in their past world. At that moment a wish I made to myself was that, “This Heritage Exhibition should be continuing till the end and bring joy and happiness to every generation. – B. APRAMAYAWSRI, X Heritage Exhibition – A road to the past culture and tradition was held on 18th and 19th of April in our school heritage club Srujana. They ware articles of various types on display like the age-old photographs, cameras, brassware, coins ranging from 100 – to 300 years old. The stone grinders, showpieces, and newspapers of the 1960 S attracted a lot of crowds. The 300 years old dagger was one of the exclusive items in the heritage Exhibition. It was the oldest heritage item displayed at the exhibition which fascinated everyone to their cores The exhibition has created a wonderful opportunity for everyone to acquire knowledge about their past tradition and culture. There were enumerous spectators from different age groups who spent their quality time in attaining knowledge about the things that were used in olden days. It has enlightened us to preserve the heritage for future generations. – B. HEMAMADHURI, X Namaste, This is R. Yaswanth of Class X. Today, I want to share my experience during the heritage exhibition. I am glad that I have got an opportunity for being a part of Srujana Club. Being a part of Srujana club, I have learnt many new things such as preserving and protecting our heritage and many more. I have also interacted with the guest Edward Paul Sir. He is a heritage enthusiast and a member of Visakhapatnam Intach Club. When I looked at all those items at exhibition, I wondered and I amazed but I didn’t know how those items were used or why they were used and when I saw sir Edward Paul observing these Historical items, I found him recollecting his memories of childhood. He was enthralled with the collection of Historical Artifacts. His message to everyone was to preserve and protect the heritage. As the saying goes: Old is Gold and preserving our heritage helps in the preservation of the glory of the past. Finally, This was a wonderful experience, I have ever had. – R. YASWANTH, X A person without the knowledge of their past, origin and culture is like a tree with no roots. This exhibition was the place where we could strengthen our roots of knowledge and life. It is through this Srujana Heritage Club that I came to know about this vast culture of India. We had several coins, currencies which told us about the economy of the past and how our ancestors purchased things. There were several black and white photographs of my friends parents, grandparents and even great grandparents which gave us a lot of information about this style of livelihood. We had a numerous amount of idols and the brass vessels and utensils in which our ancestors cooked and ate. There were cameras, air rifles, wooden toys, certificates, bravery medals, etc. which fascinated me. The items which “Exclusively” pulled my attention were a 300 year old dagger which was given to my friend’s ancestor by the king of Vijaynagara, A 150 year old book called the Andhra Bhagavatam, Movie Shield, old photograph with Madam Indira Gandhi. This was really a great opportunity to explore this ethnic and secular diversity of India. I would like to thank the School Management for giving me this golden chance to participate in this exhibition. -MANTRI NITHYA, X It was a great honor to be a member of the Young Intach Club. The purity of our heritage left me with a lot of positivity and joy. This heritage exhibition conducted at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan has left me with an immeasurable amount of curiosity to learn more about our customs and traditions. It was a proud moment for me to explain about some valuable old things. It was like giving a speech at an award show. The smiles given by parents towards me, was a moment of enter me happiness & joy. The parents drifting into their past days and leaving out a smile clearly showed their willingness to go back to the past. Their smiles shouted a lot of emotions. Like – affection, sorrow, joy and regret me, who witnessed all those emotions in their sad smiles, made me feel to go back in the past and view every little moment of happiness in those days. The journey to the heritage exhibition started with idos and came to an end with some old traditional sarees. The old idols, brassware, glassware, wooden toys, books, photography, radios, cameras and most importantly the Dagger were the best heritage items. We had collected. The Dragger which was

World Photography Day is a celebration of the art, crafts, science, and history of photography. It encourages photographers from around the globe to share a single photo that encapsulates their World. A picture can capture hundreds of emotions and moments, with the passage of time. The celebration of World Photography Day in the school was with the renowned personalities from the world of photography. To commemorate this day, a photography contest was held for the students on the themes ‘ VUDA PARK’ and ‘FISHERMAN OF VIZAG’, for Junior category and ‘HERITAGE OF VIZAG’ and ‘PLASTIC MENACE’ for Senior category. The dignitaries interacted with the students and shared their experiences and thoughts. Mr. B K Agrawal appreciated the student’s refined skill in photography and encouraged them to move ahead in the field. He said that the best talent will survive all the hurdles with sincere endeavour, passion and artistry in the field. Mr. K R Deepak voiced that anticipating the next moment through the eyes of the camera and clicking at the right moment is extremely important to stand apart as a photographer. There are around 110 fields, wherein an exceptionally talented photographer creates a mark. Success for sure will be achieved if at the right young age the passion is channelised and get chiseled as a photographer, success for sure is achieved as said by Dr. B A N Nanda.  Dr. Umesh Mahantsetty was a moment advisor advising the students to stand apart as a well conducted human being for it is most important to inculcate necessary values to see a better world. He appreciated the participating students for their zeal to acquaint themselves with the techniques of photography. The eye of a photographer is very keen and sees things around, differently with aesthetic and artistic perception. Developing the skills of observation and imagination is very important to attain success in this field were the words from the Director of the School, Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash. The best CBSE school in Visakhapatnam Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan has formed a Photography Club to give a momentum to the students who want to try their hand in photography by toning their skills through the eyes of the lens. The overwhelming participation of around 300 students with the submission of 1400 photographs on the whole was remarkable. Reflection of the Students: I never really thought about World Photography Day or even knew there was one, until I participated in it at school. The guests were experienced in their fields and their words of encouragement  was profusely appreciated. The gallery display was amazing. Photography as an art, science and career began to take shape in my head. It was a truly enthralling and awing experience. – K. Amodini, XII This is the first time I‘ve attended a celebration on World Photography Day. I learnt a lot of new things from the guests and had so much more exposure about the art of photography. “Equipped together with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the journey – ‘SCIENCE’.” True to this famous saying, many scientists proved their metal and a day is contributed for one of them to celebrate science. Each year, February 28 is celebrated as National Science Day to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the Indian Physicist CV Raman. This year, the theme of the celebrations is ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for sustainable Future’. National Science Day is celebrated all over the world to invoke a feeling of oneness pertaining to scientific updates and the latest technology. It is to roll out to the world about the impact of science used in the daily life of the people. Reinforcing the same, scientific celebrations have spread their jubilance at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan. National Science day was observed by Prakashites on 28 th February, 2022. In this regard, a workshop was organized at the school premises for the students by the Founder of the Revathi Foundation, Mr.Sri Krishna sai. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the session with hands-on experience of various experiments like the ‘Litmus Paper Test’, ‘The Periodic Table Game’, ‘Magic lines Activity’, ‘Filtration’ etc. They also had some frolic with ‘The Magic Bulb Experiment’. On the same day competitions like ‘Poster Making’ and ‘Essay Writing’ were also conducted. The students showcased their scientific zeal through their ‘Video Presentations’, ‘Lab Experiments’, and ‘Diagrams’. Overall, it was a fulfilling experience for the students as they have taken a deep dip into the concrete science Chambers after a long abstract learning. Expressing the same enthusiasm the children shared their views are on the workshop. Science is a vast subject and it had empowered the world to perfection. The seminar was extremely informative and taught us the way of easy learning and fun by performing some experiments. The experiments like ‘Play with Periodic Table’ and ‘Fun with Magic Bulb’ were interesting and awoke our interest. The experiments enhanced our enthusiasm and helped us to utilize time in a particular way. -S.P.ARAVIND, VII Today I am here to share my feelings about the science organized by Revathi Science Foundation. I felt very lively while doing the experiments. My favourite activity out of all was the ‘Fun with Periodic Table’ activity. It was really fun to find the names of animals using atomic number and the element symbol. It felt really amazing to perform the activities. I would like to thank the Revathi Science Foundation and our school management for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

Realizing the need to enhance the importance of defense and the spirit of patriotism among young minds, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan had an interactive session with Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Distinguished Fellow, VIF | Vivekananda International Foundation, with an objective to motivate and guide the students about the Armed Forces. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri’s family was associated with Bhagat Singh and he reminiscenced the facts of him with the Prakashities. The young minds got an opportunity to understand better how they can work for a better India. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri gave voice to the importance of National Security, Economic status of the country and Indian Culture. He said that the Indian Armed Forces are the strongest and have never let the country down. He enhanced the strategic power of the Armed Forces by recalling a few wars of the past. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri touched on certain criterias to uplift the economic status of the country. He said dedication to work for the country is the main aspect to overcome the economic issues faced by the country. Honesty and morality is the foundation for the development of the country. He also insinuated that the insight of the history is sine qua non for maintaining the value system and culture of the country. Indonesia, the second largest Muslim populated country follows the values inscribed in Mahabharata and Ramayana. Satavahana and Chola Dynasty’s defense mechanism and Shivaji’s naval force organisation was eulogized as the best. He highlighted the art of war that was followed by the rulers to protect the country from the enemies. He said by framing wise and correct policies in the interest of the country can lead the country to greater heights. He also elaborated that the nation must ensure to use three levers of power – Strategic, Economic and Diplomatic to build it strong. He posited that the upcoming generations can uplift the country only if they are self-reliant, confident and use their brain power for the betterment of the country. He solicited the youth to hone their skills for their own country’s benefit. Retd. Vice Admiral Raman Puri also said that the culture lies within the purview of Spiritualism and morality begins from home. Youngsters must acknowledge the history of their country and must also be the initiators to promote the value system. He encouraged the prakashites to choose defence as their career. Dr. Prabhakar, Dermatologist adorned the session with his gracious presence and also inspired the students by his insightful words to serve our motherland, India. He said that his family were freedom freighters and were associated with Subhash Chandra Bose. He enlightened the Prakashites to be patriotic towards our country. Vice Admiral Raman Puri, Dr. Prabhakar and the School Director, Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash and the day’s guests released the school Newsletter and wished them best.
