Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan follows the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the CBSE. The teaching process is customised to suit the needs of the learners with an emphasis on thinking skills, life skills and knowledge related to real life. To promote holistic development the curriculum is designed in such a way that a Grade I child devotes 60% of his time spent in school on academics and 40% on activities. This proportion changes as the child moves to the higher grades. By the time the child reaches Grade 10, he will be spending 80% of the time on academics and 20% on activities.
The school offers admissions from Grade I to Grade X for the academic year 2016-17
At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan we believe curriculum comes to life through experiential learning. Prakashites gain new perspectives and build skills for the future through experiential learning. Our ‘Yatra’ taps into student’s strengths and passions to deliver a deeper learning experience before, during and after tour. Their post-tour presentations give them a chance to reflect and share what they’ve learned.
Our frequent guest lectures with experts give Prakashites, insights to the application of their learning. Prakashites are always nurtured and get inspired with the interactive sessions. Schooling at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan would not be complete without the education exchange programs.
The teaching-learning environment would be positive, inclusive, and stimulating. It would be in the line and instruction of the CBSE and would develop the most innovative child centric classroom teaching methods. Our in-class technology, equips the teachers to arrange various digital resources to understand the aptitude of each child and cater individual needs. Our assessments and evaluation helps the teachers to judge and evaluate the true levels of learning. The process also results in the self-improvement of teaching towards efficiency. Special time is allocated in the curriculum to improve the spoken English. It is noteworthy to mention about the daily DEAR session (Drop Everything and Read) which inculcates the habit of reading. Grade 1 to 3 children do not get any homework except during the weekends - so that there is no break in the link of what they have learnt in school. In the rest of the Grades also less homework is given - in Mathematics daily and in other subjects according to a prescribed weekly schedule.
